Retrofuturist Flashback: New York of the Future

Here's another glance at the future via the past. Above we see a 1905 postcard depicting New York's future as a skyscraper-crowded aviation superhub. The postcard's reverse caption read as follows:

"Future New york will be preeminently the city of skyscrapers. The first steel frame structure that was regarded as a skyscraper was the Tower Building, 50 Broadway. There are now over a thousand buildings this high in Manhattan'. Aeroplanes and metro-cars can be seen intersecting the city."

Say what you want about the image, but the basic vision is pretty solid on this one.
