Cosmic Canvas: 'Red Sunset on the Dnieper'

I'm playing a lot of catch-up after a week away form the office, but I wanted to go ahead and share this excellent painting by Ukrainian painter Arkhip Ivanovich Kuindzhi (1842-1910). Titled "Red Sunset on the Dnieper," the work depicts just that. Kuindzhi excelled in intensely-colored landscapes and here we see a perfect example of this in the fiery red eye of a brilliant Russian sunset.

About the Author: Robert Lamb spent his childhood reading books and staring into the woods — first in Newfoundland, Canada and then in rural Tennessee.
